Sex is deeply connected to our health. I always quote Sex and the City in saying: “Who you are in bed, is who you are in life”.

If you have a bad health, it shows up in your sex life and vice versa.

In order to have amazing sex, you need to be able to surrender to your body. In these days, we are often caught up in our heads and thoughts and we are very disconnected from our body. Yet we expect sex to be there whenever we want, to release us at least for a very short moment from all the tension and worries. And we are surprised when sex doesn’t automatically show up the way we want.

Also, sex can do much more than just releasing tension if you use it consciously. When I’m talking about conscious sex, I’m not talking about the “let-me-use-your-body-to-dump-my-shit-in” kind of sex. I’m also not talking about “let-me-ignore-my-feminine-desire-for-deep-surrender-and-pretend-to-like-this” kind of sex. I’m talking about deep, meaningful long-lasting full body orgasm that releases tension and opens you up to the mystical love in your heart.

 

So here’s 10 reasons why Conscious Sex is good for your health:

 

1. Conscious sex involves lots of cuddling and caressing, which keeps your hormones balanced and loving energy flowing.

2. Conscious sex is a meditation, because it’s all about being present in the moment.

3. Conscious sex invites you to breathe deep into your body and slowly sink into a deep connection with yourself.

4. Conscious sex invites you to observe your mind, and let go of your thoughts by deeply diving into the bodily sensations that are present NOW.

5. Conscious sex teaches you to be free in your expressions, by intense breathing and making a lot of sound. Practicing expression in a safe space, has a major impact on the way you express yourself in life.

6. Conscious sex invites you to share with your partner whatever it is that you are experiencing (thoughts, emotions, feelings, sensations). This establishes a real, deep, meaningful connection.

7. Conscious sex is about spreading sexual energy throughout your entire body, so ultimately you can experience full body orgasm (which does AMAZING work for your health).

8. After having conscious sex, you feel energized, inspired and creative. You are more connected to your body which makes it easier to eat healthy and be physically active during the next days.

9. In conscious sex you use sexual energy to heal your body, by evoking the energy and consciously sending it to places that need healing.

10. After conscious sexing you feel deeply rooted and very inspired at the same time. You are connected to your true self and ready to express it.

 

Did you know that in the old days, Chinese doctors would subscribe different sex positions for different deceases? That’s how they actually came up with the Kamasutra. So conscious sex means being aware of what different positions of the body do to your organs. It’s really a yoga practice that includes using pleasurable energy for your own healing & happiness!

    These are interesting points of view about ‘sex as a medicine’. When you think about it, it makes sense that trustfull conscious sex is a perfect manner to relax and de-stress in modern times like ours. The yoga-couple shows in their ‘dance’ the ultimate form of being ‘one person’ with the two of them. I’ve really enjoyed watching it.
